100% College Placement, Year After Year Every senior who graduates from MMA is accepted to at least one college. Occasionally, graduates choose military or other careers immediately after graduation from the Academy.
Professional, Personal AttentionThe college preparation, application and selection process can be overwhelming for students and their parents.
LTC Tim Scherrer, our full-time Director of College Placement, keeps abreast of current academic trends in colleges and universities, providing invaluable personal guidance to students and parents.
Starting EarlyThe MMA College Placement Program begins at a student's freshman and sophomore year, when students are introduced to the concept and importance of a college education.
As students become juniors and seniors, they receive individualized attention from the Director of College Placement during the college search and application process.
Scholarship GuidanceSeniors are also assisted in seeking college scholarships, which results in great success: to date, the class of 2012 has earned more than
$2 million in merit scholarships, with additional financial aid awarded to those in need.
Test PreparationThe MMA high school incorporates ACT and SAT preparation as part of the course outline for Mathematics and English classes. This constant reinforcement affords students the opportunity to be
better equipped for the ACT and SAT.
MMA is a test site for the PSAT, PLAN, SAT, ACT and TOEFL exams, which provides another convenience to cadets and their families.
Exposure to Colleges and Universities
College and university representatives recruit on the Missouri Military Academy campus, and the junior and senior classes will attend college fairs, giving cadets a first-hand look at large and small, public and private institutions. This exposure gives them some ideas about which type of school will best meet their needs after graduation from MMA.
Service Academy NominationsMissouri Military Academy, as an
Honor JROTC Unit With Distinction, as designated by the Department of the Army, has the privilege of nominating cadets to the US Military Academy at West Point, the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, the US Air Force Academy and the US Coast Guard Academy. The Director of College Placement, the Senior Army Instructor and the President of MMA work with qualified cadets who are seeking nominations to the US Service Academies.
